Los Amigos is a sub-regional blend from the Department of Huila in Colombia. This iteration of our Amigos del Huila blend comes from the micro-regions of San Agustin, La Argentina, San Isidro, and Bruselas. The concept of a sub-regional blend comes from the desire to support smallholder farmers by combining very small lots to produce a larger coffee with better marketability. Truly, these lots together are greater than the sum of their parts. The four producers who have contributed lots to this coffee are:
Hernan Dario Hoyos- Tarqui, Huila
Edilma Quinayas- San Agustín, Huila
Miller Quinayas- San Agustín, Huila
Willington Ultengo- La Argentina, Huila
Osvar Ultengo- La Argentina, Huila
Jose Uribe Lasso- Bruselas, Huila
Jhoan Vargas- San Isidro, Huila
In the cup, Los Amigos is impressively sweet and juicy. Notes of maple syrup and ripe peaches dominate, and the finish is caramel-like. Los Amigos has a generous body, and performs well as hot or iced coffee.
